Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin ceramic shells, a few tenths of a millimetre thick, bonded to the outer surface of the front teeth to correct their colour, shape and small alignment flaws. They are the aesthetic treatment most requested by people who want a bright, harmonious smile within a few days, and in our Tirana clinics they are designed with Digital Smile Design and made in the own laboratory by experienced ceramists.

What are dental veneers?

A veneer is a small shell in feldspathic ceramic or lithium disilicate, materials that imitate the translucency and brightness of natural enamel. It is bonded to the tooth with an adhesive cement that creates a stable and lasting bond. Veneers cover only the visible part of the tooth and require minimal preparation, often limited to a few tenths of a millimetre of enamel; in selected cases they can be applied without any grinding at all.

When are they indicated?

Veneers are indicated for dark or stained teeth that do not respond to whitening, for teeth with an irregular shape, too short or worn, to close small gaps between teeth and to correct slight rotations or misalignments without braces. They are not suitable with untreated bruxism, large fillings on the front teeth or heavily compromised teeth, for which the doctor may suggest a zirconia crown. How is the treatment carried out in our Tirana clinics?

The journey starts with photos, video and a digital scan of the face and teeth, from which the laboratory designs the new smile on the computer. A resin simulation, called a mock up, is tried directly in the mouth: you can see and show friends and family what the result will look like before starting. Once the design is approved, the doctor prepares the teeth conservatively, takes a digital impression and fits provisional veneers. The laboratory makes the final ceramic veneers, which are tried in, adjusted if needed and finally bonded one by one with a check of colour and bite.

How long is the stay?

A single stay of five to seven days in Tirana is enough for every stage, from design to bonding. Thanks to the own laboratory, trial fittings and corrections are done on the same day. Digital design can start remotely, right after the online consultation, so that you arrive at the clinic with your smile already drawn.
