Search for the best dental clinics in Tirana and you will find dozens of rankings, almost all written by intermediaries who earn a commission on the clinics they recommend. We do not write rankings: we are the clinics. This article explains how we work every day, from sterilisation to the laboratory, from the doctors to patient care, so you can form a concrete picture and ask the right questions of anyone, us included.

Who is behind the clinics?

Our whole team is part of the clinics: doctors, coordinators, hygienists, dental technicians and assistants work in the same structure that then treats you. We have no sales agents and no telephone operators on commission. When you write to us, the person who answers is the one who will then take care of you, and the free consultation is given by a dental doctor, surgeon and implantologist who speaks Italian and English. It is a substantial difference from agencies that collect contacts online and sell them on to third party clinics.

How are sterilisation and safety organised?

Every reusable instrument goes through a class B autoclave with documented cycles and periodic effectiveness checks with biological and chemical indicators. Everything that can be single use is: gloves, suction tips, cups, surface covers. Operating rooms for implant surgery are separate from restorative treatment rooms and are sanitised between procedures. Materials are CE certified and implants come from internationally recognised brands, with batch documentation handed to the patient. These are European guidelines, and we are glad to show them to patients on the first day.

How is the diagnosis made?

The examination at the clinic relies on a three dimensional intraoral scanner, cone beam CT and digital radiographs, with equipment from German, Italian, Japanese and American manufacturers. This lets the surgeon plan implants on the computer with guided surgery, design crowns and veneers in CAD/CAM and show you, with Digital Smile Design, a preview of the result before starting. No treatment starts without a complete diagnosis and a written treatment plan, confirmed in person on the first day of the stay.

What role does the own laboratory play?

Zirconia and ceramic prosthetics, veneers, bridges and provisional dentures are designed and milled in the laboratory inside the clinics, with numerically controlled milling machines and ceramists who finish every piece by hand. Working in close contact with the doctor means quick aesthetic fittings, immediate corrections and delivery times compatible with a short stay. It is also one of the reasons why costs are lower than in Italy without the materials being any different.

Who are the doctors?

Our doctors studied and specialised abroad, mainly in Europe, and most of them speak Italian as well as English. They attend continuous training courses and international congresses in implantology, prosthetics, periodontology, orthodontics and aesthetics. In complex cases the treatment plan is discussed by several specialists, surgeon, prosthodontist and orthodontist, and not decided by one person alone. The experience accumulated on a large number of full rehabilitations is a guarantee of quality that a general practice reaches with difficulty.

How is a treatment plan reached?

Always through a free consultation with a doctor, online by video call or at the clinic. The doctor examines radiographs and photos, listens to your expectations and explains the possible solutions with pros and cons. The cost of the treatment is communicated only afterwards, in writing and item by item, together with the warranty. We do not publish price lists and we do not send quotes by email without having seen the patient, because it would be unfair to you.

How is the patient followed?

From airport pickup to transfers between hotel and clinic, to video call checkups after returning home, the patient is followed by the same team that works in the clinic. Every treatment is documented with radiographs and photos before and after, and the doctor who treated you remains reachable on WhatsApp. For multi stage treatments the second stay is planned before departure, and maintenance hygiene sessions can also be done at home on our instructions.

Which questions should you ask any clinic?

Who will carry out the consultation, a doctor or a sales operator. Where the clinic is physically located and who will welcome you. Whether the price you are given was decided after examining you. Which implant brand is used and which written warranty you will receive. Who will answer you if you have a problem after returning. These are the questions every serious clinic, in Italy or in Tirana, is happy to receive.

How is a typical day at the clinic organised?

The appointments of patients arriving from abroad are scheduled in blocks, so that every stage of the treatment has the time it needs without waiting. In the morning surgical procedures and the longest sessions are normally carried out, in the afternoon prosthetic fittings, checkups and hygiene sessions. The laboratory works in parallel on the prosthetics fitted in the morning, so that the patient can come back in the afternoon or the next day for the following stage. The coordinator who speaks Italian and English is present all day and organises transfers with the hotel.

How are pain and anxiety managed?

Every procedure is performed under local anaesthesia with techniques that make even the injection almost imperceptible. For more anxious patients or for long procedures conscious sedation is available with an anaesthetist present, which makes it possible to complete in a single session work that would otherwise require several appointments. After the procedure the doctor prescribes the necessary therapy and explains what to expect over the following days, so that nothing comes unexpected.

What really sets one clinic apart from another?

Not the spectacular rooms or the photos on the website, but the consistency between what is promised at the consultation and what is done in the chair, the clarity with which alternatives are explained and the availability of the doctor once the patient is back home. These are the criteria we use to judge our own work, and the ones we invite you to use to judge us.

Why don't we name clinics on the website?

Because the care relationship starts with the consultation with the doctor, not with a shop window. During the consultation you meet the doctor who will follow you and learn about the clinic where you will be treated, with all the information you need, including photos of the rooms and the laboratory. If you would like to put these questions to us in person, the consultation with our doctor is free and without obligation.
