The patient journey doesn't end when you land back home

When people talk about dental tourism, the focus is often on the trip, the clinic and the treatment itself. But there is an equally important phase, often underestimated, that begins right when the patient returns home: healing, adapting to new prosthetics or implants, and managing any doubts or minor discomfort that may arise in the following days and weeks. This is where serious support truly makes the difference.

How our support model works

The journey we follow with every patient does not end with the airport drop-off at the end of treatment. It is structured in ongoing phases:

Before returning home

Before departure, the patient receives clear, written instructions on how to manage the post-operative period: medication, diet, oral hygiene in the days following treatment, and warning signs to watch for.

In the first weeks after returning

In the days immediately following the return to Italy, when it is normal to have questions about swelling, sensitivity or small details of the healing process, our team remains reachable by phone to answer questions and reassure the patient about what is normal and what deserves attention.

Video consultations when needed

For situations that require a more direct assessment, for example to visually check an operated area, we arrange video calls with the referring dentist. This allows for an informed evaluation without necessarily having to return to the clinic for every small concern.

Scheduled follow-ups

For more complex treatments, such as implant plans, scheduled check-ins are planned over time, both remotely and, when clinically necessary, with a new appointment at the clinic.

Why we chose this model

Many people rightly fear that relying on a clinic abroad means being left alone if problems arise after returning home. It is a legitimate concern, and it is exactly why we built our service around a simple principle: support does not end when the patient leaves the clinic. Our coordination team, based in Tirana, works closely with the doctors of our clinics to ensure continuity of care even at a distance.

What to do if you have concerns after treatment

If, after returning home, you notice something that worries you, the most important thing is not to wait and to contact us right away, even just for phone advice. In the vast majority of cases, it is a normal reaction of the body during healing, but it is still right to have someone prepared to answer, instead of searching for generic answers online or simply waiting for the discomfort to pass on its own.

A commitment that goes beyond the single procedure

This model of continuous support stems from a core belief: getting treatment abroad should not mean giving up a relationship of trust with the people caring for you. That is why we consider post-treatment support an integral part of the service, not an optional add-on, and it is one of the areas we invest in most, in our clinics.
